It’s almost tax season! Are you ready?

Tax time is right around the corner. While many people wait until the last minute to complete tax returns, it may pay off to get started now, especially if you plan to itemize.

The information I’m sending this month outlines several deductions you may be able to claim on your taxes if you qualify. These deductions, including writing off sales tax and your mortgage interest, allow you to reduce the amount of taxes you owe and help you maximize your savings. Page two helps you get organized for tax season by providing a list of tasks to tackle now.

Tax time can be stressful for many people. The more you prepare, the less stressful the process will be.

Santa Cruz County Winter 2017 Market Update

While the slowing winds were blowing in the third quarter of 2016, it seems like those have been overcome by a surge of economic hope for the new administration. With some of the administration’s recent actions, this surge of hope may be waning a bit as the focus on divisive social issues could jeopardize support for economic compromise. Economic data has largely been positive, although troubling retail sales numbers at traditional retailers could continue to reshape the retail landscape in our communities. 2017 looks to be a strong year for residential real estate, and buyers can expect a tough market to navigate in Santa Cruz County as sellers continue to have the upper hand if they prepare and price their home correctly. As always, please call for a consultation if you are considering the sale or purchase of a home this year. Working with a Realtor that is staying on top of these issues is more important than ever!

Oh, by the way… if you know of someone who would appreciate the level of service I provide, please call me with their name and business number. I’ll be happy to follow up and take great care of them.
